A Brief introduction about
Sichuan Vocational and Technical College of Communications
(hereinafter referred to as SVTCC)

    SVTCC is a state-owned college, approved by the People¡¯s Government of Sichuan Province. It was founded in 1952, located in the City of Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan Province. At present it has 251 full-time teachers, including 58 professors and associate professors, 63 lecturers, 1 post-doctor, 82 doctors and masters, and an advisory council of more than 100 experts and advisors.

    SVTCC covers an area of 155 acres, with a building area of 230,000 square meters, furnished with standard sports-grounds, a swimming pool, an information center, a library holding more than 400,000 volumes of books, more than 80 training centers and laboratories of various types, more than 70 multi-media electronic reading-rooms and class-rooms, an ADSL campus net with easy access to Internet, etc. The Drivers Training School, the National Vocational Skills Accreditation Station, the NIIT Information Technology Training Center from India, and the T-TEP School sponsored by Japanese Toyota Motors Co. conduct various trainings all the year round.

    The academic part of SVTCC is organized into 7 faculties, namely, Faculty of Road and Bridge Engineering, Faculty of Automotive Engineering, Faculty of Economy and Management, Faculty of Information Technology, Faculty of Architectural Engineering, Faculty of Automation Engineering and Faculty of Humanities and Fine Arts, offering 35 programs.

    In the past 52 years, the college has cultivated over 20,000 technical talents. It has made great contributions to the social and economic development of China. Now SVTCC has about 9500 students at the college.
